AMHA Autism center celebrated 78th Independence Day
2024, Autism Awareness Day was observed as “AASTHA 24” with various, colorful, programs.
Dr. M.K Jayaraj, Director ULCCS foundation inaugurated the function.
This year AMHA conducted a 2 days’ residential camp, named “Mazhavillu”, for our children with Autism. 69 children with Autism in the age group of 3-10 yrs., their parents and siblings participated in the camp. It was a wonderful experience for the parents and siblings. AMHA’s aim was to make the parents and siblings understand that it is the whole family’s responsibility to take care and train the special child in their family or the whole family must be there for their special child.
AMHA students staged the drama “SANTHOSHA RAJAKUMARAN” – a Malayalam version of the English story, “HAPPY PRINCE” of the famous writer OSCAR WILD, at Trivandrum, as a part of the Kerala State Govt. program, “KERALEEYAM” – that too in the stage for normal children!
2023, Autism Awareness Day was observed as “AASTHA 23” with various, colorful, programs. The world famous, Differently Abled, Guinness Book Record Holder Dr.Prasanth Chandran inaugurated the function.
Collector Haritha V Kumar, IAS included AMHA in ‘SASNEHAM THRISSUR”- a novel program started in Trissur Dt. for the skill development of marginalized people.
Observed World Disabled Day, Dec 3rd, with seminars and cultural programs. Social Justice and Higher Education Minister Dr. R. Bindu, MLA Sri.P.Balachandran, Dt. Collector Smt. Haritha V Kumar, IAS were the chief guests. A short film directed by the Film Director Sri.Sarath Menon, “THE RED BALL” was also released by Minister R.Bindu, on the same day. This Short Film bagged 5 awards (State Level Competition) in the BHARATH P.J. ANTONY Short Film fest 2023- BEST FILM, BEST DIRECTION, BEST STORY, BEST SCRIPT and BEST CHILD ARTIST.
A “COOL DOWN ROOM” designed for Adult persons with Autism (sponsored by Round Table of India – Thrissur chapter) was inaugurated by Dt. Collector, Mrs.Haritha V.Kumar,IAS, on Dec 3rd, the World Disabled Day. An exhibition “MIKAV” got much appreciation from Social Justice and Higher Education Minister and the Dt.Collector Mrs Haritha V Kumar, IAS. The Demo Exhibition by the parents and children of our Autism center was much appreciated by Dt. Collector, Thrissur MLA and Minister of Social Justice and Higher Education.
This year AMHA celebrated the Annual Day (Oct 2nd ) as “SNEHASPARSAM” with various programs. With the help of Rangachethana Theater group the students staged a drama “SANTHOSHA RAJAKUMARAN” – a Malayalam version of the English story, “HAPPY PRINCE” of the famous writer OSCAR WILD. The translation, script and direction were did by Sri.K.V.Ganesh, the Art Director of Rangachethana. The students performed wonderfully. As a part of awareness program, Dr.Sailaja, Dr.Subramanian and Mr.V V Joseph took classes on “PRESENT SCENARIO OF AUTISM, DIET AND AUTISM and PARENTING IN AUTISM”.
This year’s Autism Awareness Day was observed as “AASTHA 22” with various, colorful, programs. The world famous Social activist Fr.Davis Chiramel inaugurated the function. Our ADL Home – one of the Best in India- was also inaugurated, on the same day. Mr. Niranjan a singer, who is a boy with Autism, was our chief guest.
