AMHAAbout AMHA

As a sister of 3 brothers with Autism a strong aspiration sprouted in Dr.Bhanumathi’s mind in her early childhood to explore the possibilities to work for the welfare of intellectually impaired community as a whole that inevitably require a helping hand throughout their life. When she grew up as an adult and through her experiences, she could understand that a good number of parents are unaware of the necessity of schooling and training their wards and were desperately worried about the plight of the wards after their demise.

This state of affairs inspired her to think about an institution which can do something for the needs of mentally challenged persons and their family. In 1996, with the moral support of Dr.K.S.Shaji and her friends ShriV.V.Joseph and Mrs. Mangala Shashikumar, she started working for the cause of the mentally challenged persons and their family.

Testimonials

Hear it from our Parents

To Dear Bhanumathi Teacher, Jacob Sir, and the entire AMHA Team,

I am writing this to express my most sincere thanks and deep gratitude to all of you.

After visiting various therapy centers without much progress, I arrived at AMHA with my son one year ago. Since that day, every teacher at AMHA has worked with true sincerity. The therapists provided us with daily activities to do at home, monitored our progress through daily videos, and gave us essential guidance and feedback.

Thanks to this dedicated support, my son has achieved remarkable milestones:

He has started eating food on his own. He can now clean himself independently after toileting. He has begun brushing his teeth by himself. He can now take water from the tap to wash his mouth and face.

I have gained the confidence to let him walk beside me on the road without holding his hand.

He now sits safely and holds on properly while riding on the back of my scooter.

One unique feature of AMHA that I haven't seen elsewhere is the way teachers maintain a dedicated diary for every child, tracking their current activities and individual needs.

My heartfelt thanks go to Bhanumathi Teacher for her selfless vision in starting such an institution without expecting anything in return. I also thank Jacob Sir for his leadership in guiding the team under one roof. I am deeply grateful to Occupational Therapist Sachin Sir, Speech Therapist Preethu Mam, Special Educator Divya Mam, and every member of the team for their timely instructions and support. 🙏🙏🙏

With sincere love and thanks,

- Soumya Vinod (M/o Suryakiran)

Respected, Bhanumati teacher, Jacob sir and the entire AMHA team,

I would like to sincerely thank you for the support I have received from AMHA.I have been to other therapy centres before, but we have not received this level of therapy or support from other centres.I truly appreciate the home based activities you suggest and the guidence you provide after each session. It really helps us understand what we can work on at home and how to better support our child's progress. The home based activities have made a big difference in Aryans development.I have also become like a therapist myself, and I am now able to use my time with my child more productively.

Aryan can now dress and undress by himself, and he eats rice very neatly on his own.

In terms of speech, his memorization skills have improved and able to speak in sentences.

For all this progress,I would like to give special thanks to Sachin sir and Preethu miss.

Once again heart felt thanks to entire AMHA team,They have worked with great sincerity and with out any selfish intentions.

We are deeply grateful to Bhanumati teacher for leading this centre with dedication and selflessness.special thanks also to Jacob sir whose guidence makes AMHA stronger and more successful.

With sincere gratitude

- Divya Pramod (M/o Aryan pramod)

I would like to express my sincere gratitude and thankfulness to Bhanumathi teacher,Jacob sir and the entire AMHA team.

At the first time when we came here, Krishnajith didn't know how to take his meals properly.Sachin sir and Preethi miss told me about his sensory issues and suggested many activities and worked for reducing it.Now he is able to do it better.

In a way, they observed him minutely and suggested activities to overcome his problems and this make him more and more better.

Your determination and dedication are amazing.

I would remember you all in my life with gratitude and love.

Once again thank you mam and thank you all.

With my sincere gratitude

- Sowmya (M/o Krishnajith)
